Rasto stepped forward until he could speak to Strange unheard by the others.

"You are much changed, my lord.  I sense great power here that was not in you before.  Have you been touched by the hand of the god, perhaps?"
  
Strange looked his friend in the eye angrily.  "Believe that if it makes you feel better," he said.  The small man returned his gaze thoughtfully.  "I do believe it,"  He dropped to his knees and lowered his head in homage.  Seeing this, the others followed his lead.

"Get up," said Strange harshly.  "I'll have none of that."  Not watching to see if he was obeyed he turned back to the schoolhouse and, entering, closed the door behind him.
